    Well, I really, truly think Donald Trump is a bigger menace to the USA than illegal immigration, but I could be wrong.

    Trump was being intentionally over the top in order to make an ironic statement on the history of Mexican-American relations.

    Trump didn't say "illegal immigrants are murders and rapists" he said "When Mexico sends its people, they're not sending their best; they're not sending you. They're sending people that have lots of problems, and they're bringing those problems with us (SIC). They're bringing drugs. They're bringing crime. They're rapists. And some, I assume, are good people."

    That isn't "illegal immigrants" that's everyone who comes from Mexico to the United States. They keep the non-rapists but happily send us the drug dealers and rapists. I'm not going to white wash his comment as being in his "bombastic" style to some how make it OK. His comments were fucking racist. He's a fucking racist.

    Lambasting illegal immigration is one thing. Chiding the ongoing Mexican drug cartel problem is one thing. Saying the people fleeing the troubles in Mexico are the trouble with the United States is a fucking joke.

    Are we then to "assume" that's a tacit admission that he doesn't actually know any Mexicans?

    Not that I have any interest in defending Trump, but wouldn't it be more accurate to say that it is a tacit admission he doesn't know any illegal immigrants?
