Let me get this straight. YF doesn't like the theory about Democrats and Republicans switching unless it allows him to disown past Republicans. More importantly, he still can't provide anything to back up his claims of current racism in the labor unions aside from his own anecdotal evidence, which is too small and too untrustworthy to be worthwhile. And when providing articles about lawsuits dating back to the 1970s didn't work, he went back to talking about the 1930s.

To be fair, I have skipped a few pages, but YF's assault on the Democratic Party doesn't seem to be going well.

I don't doubt it, but even though it is more work, I'd still take dealing with people's writing over statistics any day.

I agree with a lot of this.

I would argue that most people are still a least a bit racist but more out what filled their heads over the years or ignorance than malice as in the past.

I know unions have their own problems but honestly had never heard that racism is in the top 10.

There's no assault on the Democratic Party here.

And, I'm not a huge proponent of the party switchy-changy thing, but if you're going to disown the racist southern democrats, you've got to take something in the trade.

The South used to vote Republican, and the Northeast voted Democrat. That's switched. So, if I'm taking on the racist Southern Dems, why aren't you taking on the racist Northern Republicans?

All of this reminds me of when I told the Good Doctor that former NY Gov. Rockefeller, and his draconian drug laws, should be owned by the Dems, since a Northeast liberal like Rocky would surely be a Dem today. God did he lose his shit.

Here's the thing. Nobody thinks that they are racist.

Dylan Roof probably didn't think he was racist. (He was, for the record.) He thought he was just a proud white man, fighting for his community against outsiders.

And, so white liberals think they don't have a racist bone in their body. They care about the flag, and gave poor blacks better access to a bike share program.

But, they don't think about the vestiges of every day racism that remain.

And, because they are reflexively "pro-union" they don't recognize that some of those remaining vestiges are in the labor movement.

And, pointing this all out causes them confusion.

Geez, YF. A simple, "you're exactly right, Ace" would do fine.

Let's work to end renter discrimination. It's racist, and it exists in big cities, run by liberal Dems:

And, the current laws let you just pay a fee to enable your racism:

Under the city's current Affordable Requirements Ordinance rules, developers are required to put affordable apartments in all new developments of 10 or more units that seeks zoning changes from the city or uses city land or subsidies. But developers can skirt those rules by opting to a pay an "in lieu" payment.

In the West Loop, developers almost always pay the "in lieu" payment, Burnett said.

White liberal resident says she's just trying to protect what they've built:

A 15-year resident who lives near Mary Bartelme Park said that neighbors aren't discriminating against renters. They just want to protect what they've built, she said.

"I think we want to create our home and keep it that way and I really resent everyone calling us bigots because we want owners [in the neighborhood]," the woman said.

Ah, it's too fucking funny. We're just protecting our way of life. We're just protecting our jobs.

    But, we're not racists!
