Chicago has lost six in a row, is 11-21, and is . . . tied for the eighth playoff spot. Count on 11-22 after they play at Las Vegas tonight.

 

Magic Johnson was one of the highest FG shooting percentage guards in NBA history his rookie season ( 52 percent I believe). April Reese is more like Tom Boerwinkle than she is like Magic Johnson.

The Fever clinched their first playoff spot since 2016 last night, which was an off night for them. Both Chicago and Atlanta lost, though, sealing spots for Indiana and Phoenix.

As well as they're playing after the Olympic break, a run in the playoffs isn't out of the question, either.

 

They're 15-7 since the 2-9 start and now get a six-game homestand before finishing the season in Washington. So they have a chance to make a real move here before the season ends.

 

Making the playoffs in the WNBA (where more teams make it than don’t) is only slightly more of an accomplishment than making the playoffs in my kid’s rec league (where everyone gets in).

Two 11-22 teams are currently fighting for the last playoff spot.

 

And a team that started 0-12 is one game out of the No. 8 spot.

 

So it’s pretty much like every other sport then. Good to know.
