Steve Nash, IMHO, is the heart of that team.

Some grandmas know their basketball though. Both of mine do. I had to go elsewhere ;)

In the last minute of a game, if you set up plays for Amare to win the NBA Title while Nash does not take a shot, then he is your cornerstone.

A cornerstone is the guy who takes the last shot. He is the guy who you look at to score the last 2-3 buckets of the game. He is the guy that takes over.

It sure looked like LeBron was going to be one of those guys last year, but his team didn't even win a game in the finals. Not one game. Sure, he could still make this list, but I am not going to assume anything.

IMHO, Nash is the guy who I want taking the last shot for the NBA title.

The same goes with Duncan, Hakeem, Jordan, Billups, Bird, Thomas and Shaq.

You want Shaq taking the last shot? Are you fucking serious? How many last shots have you seen Shaq take?

Magic Johnson's team did not win a game in the 1983 finals. Not one game.

Magic Johnson's team did not win a game in the 1989 finals. Not one game.

Shaquille O'Neal's team did not win one game in the 1993 finals. Not one game.

Obviously because he only played 2 years of college ball.

I think Devil's assertion that he'd rather have Shaq taking the last shot than Kobe Bryant pretty much puts this thread to rest.

There's a reason why Shaq never gets the ball in the final minute of a tight game -- .524.

Unbelievable that anyone would discount Kobe just because he played with Shaq. Put JJ Redick at the two and the Lakers don't sniff a title.

Yes, college kids should continue earning money for the corrupt college system; one that makes money off their likeness without ever cutting the players in. TV ratings, jersey and ticket sales, it's the kids that sell the game, not the coaches. Not one person buys a ticket to see Coach K or Good Ol' Roy crouch and gesticulate.
