I hate to put in a plug for political parties here - but this is why having strong political parties (I'd prefer two, three however many...) is a good thing. They can provide pressure on a fellow party member that a non-affiliated voter cannot. They realize that each of them reflect on each other and the party membership. It is why in the past when stuff like this happened and the accused/guilty sought support from political allies it was typically denied - and the person just stepped down to avoid further problems out of respect to the party.
Now for whatever reason, politicians can "remain defiant", use the accusations as a badge that "special interests are out to get them" and why they need to stay and fight for the people (and other special interests that need them to stay in office).

This is why we needed Hillary. No one wants to fuck her. She’s the least sexual woman since Mother Theresa. And Hillary has the sex drive of mittens. She hasn’t touched another human above the wrist since 1986

Doesn’t top his recent wish for Trump voters to get colon cancer. (Paraphrasing.)

Too good for most of them. I’m wishing that Hitler is still burning hot in hell Problem or is he a conservative model of leadership too?

I know we get caught up in each new allegation or revelation, but stepping back I realize that we are seeing a serious push-back from Team Clinton, apparently in response to Biden's book tour, comments about Hillary and a potential bid in 2020. Throw in the revisiting of the Bill Clinton stuff and it's like seeing, well like seeing old people who don't normally fight suddenly and literally "put up their dukes."
There is no way Hillary will run again, but I do think she and her supporters want her to have a significant say in determining who the nominee will be. They don't want to see her leave the stage. And I'm thinking we're not so much seeing people settling scores from long-held grudges, but people fighting to hang on to a role as a party elder. It isn't like Dem party elders are in short supply - there are many of them still in office.
Once 2020 gets here, Obama may be the only former Dem office holder a candidate wants campaigning for them.

She is leprosy. And she will infect anyone who gets near her. Her supporters are just amoral, power hungry, selfish snobs. She is so close to trump on the entitled sociopathic spectrum that they could be holding hands. Her problem is that she has the intellect and background to be President, while trump doesn’t, she lacks the judgement to make decisions for any reason other than her own engrandizement, like trump. Please go away. Please go to China and steal some sunglasses.

I wasn't going to post this earlier today, but since some of you went there already:

I am amazed at how intensely loyal her team is to her. You don't hear leaks about what she's "really thinking" - and if you do they tend to be self-serving. I understand that Clinton's strength/power gives her team strength/power and they have an interest in protecting that, but at this point those around her could be left out in the cold. Surprised they haven't moved on to some new "rising star" like Warren.

Clinton is a fascinating study. Her rise is greatly aided by who she is married to - I don't have much doubt she could have landed in Congress (at least) in Illinois on her own. And while who she is married to is a great asset, it is also her biggest liability. Hillary has been portrayed as an enabler, a victim, an advocate for and attacker of women...

She's kind of like the party itself, in a bit of an awkward stage. Still trying to figure out how to fit in - shadow president? party leader? party exile? I don't know where she is at this point in the public mindset.

That’s because the Clinton mafia would kill them like Vince Foster!
