Right. But as soon as it needs a new hard drive, wouldn't she be better off just getting a new one?

My parents had a 10-year-old computer. It barely worked. Took 10 minutes to open anything. Just a piece of shit. So I got my mom a new laptop.

Nobody should be using a 10-year-old computer. I have one in the garage. I can't even find an OS that it could run.

And hard drives are relatively cheap. When the time comes, I should be able to get an 80gig internal drive for well under a hundred bucks and extend the computer for a few more years.

But she's at 6. The hard drive hasn't gone yet. Let's say it goes in two years...that's eight. Why not just get a new one?

I bought a second hard drive for my previous computer. The first one was only 30 gigs and had all my systems stuff on it.. I bought a second hard drive -- 120 gigs -- and stored all my files on that.
When I replaced that computer, bought an external shell and put the 120G hard drive in it as backup for my desktop and laptop.

BUY A FUCKING HARD DRIVE, ASSHOLES! IT'S REALLY NICE AND FAST AS HELL! IF I NEEDED ONE, I'D BUY THIS ONE! SO BUY ONEM DAMMIT! I'M TIRED OF THIS THING! MAKE THAT BUTTON BOUNCE!

I know my mother, that's why not. She doesn't think that way. She's cheap aggressively frugal. The only reason she has the computer she has is because I forced her to inherit my old one when I bought the laptop. Otherwise, she'd still be using an 8-year-old PC with less than 256MB of RAM and a 20gig hard drive running Windows Millenium.

Yes. Something she needs? Cuts corners and gets the least she can and then calls it a bargain. Clothes she likes on QVC? Quick, hide the damn phone.
