"Dreamer" an early 80s "Rocky" set in the world of bowling starring Tim Matheson. Do I win? Ice Castles is up there too.

But Slap Shot II was the most disappointing. Everything that was great about the first one, with the exception of the Hansons, was missing in the second one. The plot was ridiculous and Gary Busy playing a born-again? ugh!

  4. Fear Strikes Out is pretty bad -- so is The Winning Team, with Ronald Reagan as Grover Cleveland Alexander, who is afflicted with "dizzy spells."
    Yeah, right.

As heinous as "Slap Shot 2" was and is, nothing could ever tarnish the original's wonderful legacy.

Babe Ruth Story, with William Bendix.

It's the Mendoza Line of sports movies.

  7. Ladies and gentlemen...I nominate "Victory"

Sylvester Stallone, Michael Caine, and PELE! Plus it's directed by John Huston. Pure drivel.

Victory Rocked! If only for that scene where the starting goaltender puts his arm out to get it broken!. "Make it clean mate"

The part where Max von Sydow stands up to witness the unadulterated, slow-mo beauty of the convicts' togetherness on the pitch ... that's a great part. Oh, so is the part where the keeper gets his arm snapped in half. Great flick. Vee-soix!

I hated Remember the Titans. Just didn't do anything for me. Way too cheesy.

    With you on Rudy though.

And I've just skimmed over this, but any mention of that movie a few years back with Jonathan Lipnicki and Bow Wow with magic basketball sneakers? Never saw it, but can imagine it would fit on this list.
