Agreed, the Doctor and all his moves couldn't save it.

Rollerball is doesn't belong on this list. It's really a social satire set in a sports movie, so it should get a pass.

    I'll second that.

What was that awful Burt Reynolds movie about NASCAR racing. That has to be on the list!

Lets see we have to go with Bring it On all 3. Then Stick it same director and they all sucked.

But I have to give my vote to Debbie Does Dallas. Now this was a sports movie lol.
Also what was that movie with the Star Trek dude?

That Cathy Lee Crosby movie mentioned way long ago was Coach.

There are wayyyyy too many bad sports movies. It's a genre where if you don't do it right, look out. It's too hard to pick just one.

To me, The Natural is cheesy as all hell.

I try not to acknowledge the existence of Caddyshack II. I think of all the ways I've blown $5 in my life and can't yet find one that tops paying to see that in the theatres.

And after that I have never entertained the thought of watching Slap Shot II.

As for The Slugger's Wife...wow, horrid. But I'll watch it for five minutes on cable anytime in hopes of catching scenes at Atlanta-Fulton County Stadium, the ballpark of my youth.

And "Slap Shot" is a black and heavily ironic comedy/drama and commentary that just happens to have been based in a hockey setting. That doesn't mean it's not a sports movie.

I agree. It was a treaclefest made worse having to watch Costner try to act.

The novel wasn't much better but the short story that turned into the novel (at the suggestion of Kinsella's editor at Houghton), "Shoeless Joe Jackson Goes to Iowa" is first class.

Bill Kinsella, one of the greatest pricks in the Canadian literary world, was a first class short story writer, particularly his ones about First Canadians living in a fictional reservation in Alberta.

And like Fenian, I played catch with my father and I played catch with my three sons.

That's got nothing to do with the fact the movie sucks big time.

And Slapshot 2 was lordy awful.

Sorry, but that movie gave us a topless Cynthia Gibb, making it cinematic excellence.
