When was the last time the Yankees played the Patriots, exactly?
And generally, the chant happens when A. the Yankees are shown to be losing on the scoreboard, or B. when an obnoxious Yankee fan is being escorted out. Not saying it never happens for no apparent reason, but there's usually some identifiable cause. And no, I don't participate, and yes, I think it's dumb. But I think people on this board are getting off on ripping Red Sox fans, and while I love a good Generalization-fest, this is fucking pathetic. LJB's practically having a conversation all to himself about it.

Just an opinion. But how the fuck can someone named "Cape Codder" and a guy with a riding UMass banner be expected to be the least bit objective on this issue?

You people do not have a proprietary interest in baseball or fanhood. That's all I'm saying.

Of course, you MUST be objective, right? Nobody else could be, but you certainly are. And you're taking a big fucking leap to suggest that "we" think we have a proprietary interest in baseball or fanhood. You just want to have your say and not be debated on it. So blow that out your ass. You saw a documentary. Let me get you a medal and a cookie. I'd get you a wider brush to paint your dismissive know-it-all crap (and it really is crap), but I'm not sure one's available.

I can be the least bit objective because I've done a little traveling in my 12 years in this business. Believe me, Boston has plenty of fans who are assholes, just like any other major metropolitan market on the list. But where I disgree with you is the insane rip job you've done on Red Sox fans here. New England has hardly cornered the market. As I stated in my previous post, I've been in other places and worked in other markets where I've seen fans do and say things that are just as bad as anything I've ever seen in New England. Just stating the what-so. Leave your own backyard, and you might be qualified to make the same sort of comment.

And for the record, no one is suggesting Boston shouldn't be on this list, you flaming asshat. What people are saying that maybe, just maybe, Boston doesn't deserve to be No. 1.

For the record, I do enjoy the fact that LJB's post begins with "just an opinion," but then the "just an opinion" of people from the Boston area aren't allowed. Fucking pathetic. By the way, you had a typo before. Angry Bill is a STEREOtypical Red Sox fan, not a PROTOtypical Red Sox fan. I know it's fun to fantasize about Red Sox fans all being the perfect image of idiocy, because it makes your small-market wet dreams that much more real, but I know far more Red Sox fans who are normal, well-adjusted people than ones that are like him.

I love being told I suck for liking a sports team. What absolute fun.

Don't get pissy, Texy Poo. You know what that did to "Angry Bill."

Cape Coddler, you don't think I might have taken a stroll of Boston a time or two in my day? It's always the same with you Bostonians -- You Belong to the City.

    And only you.

Enjoy your team, fellas. Make sure you're wearing those slightly bleached ballcaps, too -- they're all the styles.

Jesus, Mary and St. Joseph, don't get so dramatic. Deep breaths. One to 10.

Angry Bill did this after Game 3.

God, just covering yourself in glory on this one. But no, you're right. I'm a Red Sox fan. I must have a pre-bleached Sox hat, and a Yankees Suck t-shirt, and not know about Pesky holding the ball or Duffy's cliff or the fact that Fenway opened the day the Titanic sank. Also, I must clearly think that I'm the greatest fan in the world, or at least in the greatest fan group in the world. No chance I'm embarrassed by some of the asshats who come to Fenway. Hey, while you're at it, why don't you just go whole-hog on with "you Bostonians" and call me a racist, provincial Brahmin with no concept of the rest of the country? I mean, shit, these generalizations seem so easy to you. Where are you from? What team do you support? Because I'm sure I could spew a bunch of bullshit about it that would be only less true than it is civil and mature.

Come on. It's far easier to spew gross generalizations from the comfort of relative anonymity. Everyone knows that. But I'm using LJB's highly scientific methods of deduction, I'm sure there are some things we can deduce about him...
