You have to be together to have a breakup. Were they ever together?

It was a big deal back then - and they were TNT cameras. Sunday NITRO.
TNT happened to do a great job broadcasting those games but their contract ended after the 1997 season.
I want to say it was Fred Hickman and Kenny Stabler on the postgame show, with Craig Sager reporting.

and a hell of an open

Yeah, I know they drafted him and the history, but there was really not much of a "partnership" between them.

More like a one-sided love affair.

If we're going that route then Belichick was coach of the Jets for about a day.

The silly peloponnesian war that went on between those two clubs stemmed partly from that.

Hugh Culverhouse was a very successful tax lawyer, which ought to tell you all you need to know about the 1980s Bucs.

And Belichick is STILL a bitch about it. He wasn't wrong to leave the Jets and he definitely wasn't wrong about Steve Gutman being an idiot, but enough with the grudge holding.

Paul Brown and the Cleveland Browns, Jim Brown and the Cleveland Browns, and the Browns and Cleveland are in the running.

I’d have been a much happier person in general if the latter had proved irreconcilable in 1995.

BYH- I can't remember for sure but I think for at least a time Belichick wasn't even listed among Jets head coaches.

Even interim coaches get the obligatory name and 0-1 record in the media guide.

The NYJ-NEP feud was started by Parcels taking the Jets job in the week before he coached in the Super Bowl.

And then Parcells signing Curtis Martin to an impossible-to-match offer sheet. Good times! Belichick is still a bitch though.
