So any day now, the UN will charge him with crimes against humanity for his columns?

His petty one-way feuds are pathetic.

Yea because at heart he is a pussy. He cowers when there is pushback. Who could forget when he made fun of the City of New Orleans before Pats Super Bowl.

Entirely possible that it's not one-way.

You would think that the powers-that-be in Bristol would realize they have bigger things to worry about ... or perhaps they won't.

Fair comment . . . but think that Master William's been aggressively lobbing volleys on his own for a good while, now.

Yeah, WEEI and The Big Show started things weeks ago when Ordway was crying that Simmons went on the morning show and not his. WEEI is to radio what ESPN is to television. Some things on it I find quite enjoyable, but there are gaping holes in arguments and some of the analysts - especially Fred - are comically bad.

As far as the "Simmons doesn't know the 1970s!" argument goes, I can't comment that much, since my experience with the decade is solely from reading his book and "Loose Balls". However, the NBA was losing a lot of talent to the ABA in that time frame, and the prime years of say, Dr. J, are lost forever to video. Drugs were a huge problem too, and outside of 1990s Rileyball with the Knicks and Heat, I'm not sure what era of the NBA would be worse.

The problem with NBA basketball in the 1970s is that the 76ers, who were supposed to be a dynasty, couldn't close the deal, and Bill Walton got hurt. The rest is just noise.
Simmons loves basketball, and I respect that. But loving something and understanding it are not the same thing.

  9. To be fair Michael - I'm not sure you're exactly unbiased when it comes to Simmons seeing how he's taken some shots at you.

I think he understands the game fine, though not as much as he may think.

I'd be devastated if my employers banished me from Twitter.

Clearly Simmons has no understanding of the 70's NBA
