I just saw him on ESPNEWS, I don't get it. What does he add to the deal. Did he get yanked from basketball?

Daugherty's a big gearhead, and once owned a Craftsman Trucks team. So he's got a little crossover appeal for hoop fans watching ESPN, but moreover he seems to know his shit. And NASCAR fans may have the best bullshit detectors in sports, so that's big.

By the way, not to dredge up hours/day-old posts, but what's so offensive about having Busch practice on ESPN2 on a Friday afternoon? What, you haven't quite memorized the script from the 2002 Seattle Seahawks Yearbook video?

With all this NASCAR coverage, there's no time for episodes of "Madden Nation" or showings of "Junction Boys."

3, however, has been on about 500 times since Christmas.

my problem is they had Busch on both ESPN and ESPN2, the same shit on both channels, come on, I can see one but both is a little overkill

Are you sure it was the same? Was one on tape-delay? Was one a NASCAR practice? Either way, there's clearly a market for this, and at least it's live sports, as opposed to more NFL rehashing. I realize three hours on which defensive lineman will be taken first in the draft might thrill a few people, but there's a time and a place. This is NASCAR's big week.

yes, was exactly the same, no delay, same exact feed on both channels ... I have nothing against Nascar but give viewers something else, I would rather them put some stupid ass jump-rope competition on then the exact thing on both channels

I have to wonder, though, what some of NASCAR's old boys think of all this coverage. News crews swarming the infield and garage areas? They're probably WTF from head to toe.

How things have changed. It wasn't too long ago that NASCAR made ESPN's reporters tape their reports from outside the speedways. No, money means nothing to ESPN or NASCAR, does it?

    Here's an idea: Don't watch.
It's the same concept I'm applying to NASCAR, and to SportsCenter, for that matter.
