That's pretty good, but where's Berra?

Did you forget him, or purposely leave him off the list?

No, it really doesn't. There was only a six-year gap between the end of Sandberg's career and the end of Grace's. Sure, people have short attention spans these days, but not that short.

Besides, that's a fantasy. There was no such poll taken. The poll putting Jeter up with Ruth did happen and your fellow Yankee fans showed their collective asses.

It was a poll of 785 New York baseball fans. Not Yankee fans. And they asked women, too. In statistical proportion to Females in the general population, female New Yorkers, female Yankee fans? Did they factor in the Met-fan vote?

See, this why women shouldn't be allowed to vote. *runsandhides*

and before this thread gets locked.

Reggie Jackson played for the Yankees, he's not A Yankee.

Rickey Henderson may be a top 20 Yankee of all time, even though he only played 5 years for the Yankees but not Reggie.

Yeah, how dare they ask women as if some woman might know something about baseball. ::)

And here we go with that idiotic shit about who is a true Yankee and who is not. That is almost as foolish as your comment about women.

Reggie's monstrous, sustained ego makes him tough to tolerate, but that "True Yankee" shit is
open to debate . . . one thing for sure: the denizens of the right-field stands by no means should control
    the pivotal voting bloc . . .

The fact that no one posted the name 'Clemens' indicates there is some belief in a Yankee identity that extends beyond length-of-service. 'True' Yankee status exists as one end of a theoretical (and almost completely subjective) continuum.

it's obvious to any right-thinking yankee fan over 40 that jeter doesn't belong in any debate over 'who is the best yankee ever?' sure, he's in a 'top 10 yanks' discussion but only a 'fan of a certain age' would ever talk about him being their best ever. you know, fans who think mlb began in 1996...

this is like one of the silly arguments they have for argument's on 'first look. ridiculous but i guess you kill time or space any silly way you can... ::)
