That's kind of my point. That's what makes many of them nerds.

    Maybe so, Bubs.

But has anyone bothered to discuss why some people are so quick to unload on Rush, typically not prompted by any comments by an overzealous fan? That's no better than the claim that many of the group's fans are excessively touchy.

You're a nerd, Piotr. I would have never suspected. :D

And can we get back to talking about Thin Lizzy?

Fuck forgot about Blue Oyster Cult.

At least their fantasy epics sometimes ended in motorcycle gang murders and drug deals gone bad.

You find Yes LESS boring than Rush? Even after Tales from Topographic Oceans? I like some Yes, but that band's pretensions make Rush look like The Ramones.

BOC's "Then Came The Last Days of May" is a great, great song.

"Long Distance Runaround" perfectly sums up my feelings about Yes.

  11. Topographic Oceans is brilliant. Holds up incredibly well. To me, probably No. 4 Yes record behind Relayer, Close to the Edge and Going for the One. A masterpiece. It's a cliche to call it "pretentious." Never really understood that tired old line. What exactly were they pretending to be? Some other band that created a sprawling 80-minute sonic landscape that exploded all over the musical map and contained some of the best music they ever created? There are sections that drag, but to me Topographic is one of the most inventive, ambitious and satisfying records ever made. The people who rip it generally have never listened to it or just listened to it once or twice 34 years ago and have never bothered to truly listen.

Rush, on the other hand, has never done a thing for me. Good players but the songs just aren't there.

And Sam Mills, my favorite Genesis line has always been ... "The sands of time were eroded by the river of constant change."

I do hope Stevie Ray Vaughan is inducted into the RnRHOF in the near future. Incredible performer. Left us far too soon.
