    KISS. Jethro Tull. Rush. Genesis.

    Glad to see them do the right thing, re: Metallica. Jeff Beck was overdue. No argument with Run-DMC, since they clearly want to expand the Hall's mandate beyond traditional "rock and roll."

    But there are still a few bands which performed - and often still perform - with distinction, and are kept out. While the likes of the Pretenders are in.

    I'm glad to see Metallica make it in. I've had my fingers crossed for them for a long time. They were my first favorite heavy band.

    Rush is like Greg Maddux. A little geeky, not going to blow hitters away, but damn effective for nearly two decades while playing the role of tactician as well as anybody. What a sham(e).

    Good for Run DMC — basically in on the first ballot. Not the first rap act in (Grandmaster Flash got that last year) but the first commercial rap success. Lil Wayne and Kanye should be kissing Russell Simmons' butt at every opportunity.
