    So, Abba gets in?

I haven't check my morning news, but are Rush fans storming across Lake Erie into Cleveland as we speak?

I don't have a problem with Abba getting in. Worldwide popularity and staying relevant for this long after they broke up should count for something.

But of course, Rush should have been in years ago.

What year are Guns N Roses eligible? I'm guessing that would have to be in the next year or two.

I think their first album was 86?, so next year. GNR before Kiss...interesting theory.

I will disagree on Abba...I feel they are just a kitsch group that cashed in on disco and remain that way. Of course, this is the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, so who knows what the criteria could be.

Here's a list of some of those waiting to get in:

    KISS
    Depeche Mode
    The Cure
    Chicago
    Hall and Oates
    Rush
    Alice Cooper
    Moody Blues
    E.L.O.
    Cheap Trick
    Bad Company
    Peter Frampton
    Heart
    T-Rex
    Bon Jovi
    Journey
    Foreigner
    Public Enemy
    Red Hot Chili Peppers

From that list alone, I see at least 12 I'd put in before Rush.

And remember, this is about more than the US. ABBA was mammoth in the rest of the world.

How is E.L.O. not in this thing?

    Who did they piss off?

    KISS - Absolutely.
    Depeche Mode - Maybe
    The Cure - No
    Chicago - Absolutely.
Hall and Oates - Look at how many No. 1 hits they have and tell me how they don't belong.
Rush - The best of this group by far.
Alice Cooper - How is he not in? Ridiculous.
    Moody Blues - Probably
    E.L.O. - No
Cheap Trick - Absolutely should be in
    Bad Company - Maybe
    Peter Frampton - No.
Heart - No question should be in.
    T-Rex - No.
Bon Jovi - Absolutely should be in
    Journey - Yes.
    Foreigner - Probably
Public Enemy - If Run DMC is in, Public Enemy should be in
Red Hot Chili Peppers - Probably

Could Jimmy Buffett be added to this list? I'm not saying one way or the other. I could see an argument for both sides.

From the above list, KISS, Heart, Chicago, Rush and Journey lead the way of should be ins.

And Guns N Roses should never be in. Love the music, but 3 albums over a 4 year timeframe does not measure up to a hall of fame career.

I've said it before, if not on this thread then on others, but it bears repeating - there is no good reason why Paul Revere and the Raiders are not already in.

IIRC, Anderson rolled credits on Boogie Nights to Livin Thing.

    They are in.
