Guys who don't have affairs don't have this problem.

The overwhelming majority of posters on this thread seem not to be outraged that Steve Phillips is a pig who cheats on his wife and family many times over, but that he didn't cheat on his wife with someone who is better looking.

There's a lot of disgusting people on SportsJournalists.com today.

I am sad for the woman. Fuck Steve Phillips. He's a fucking adult. I don't care if she made advances on him. He's a grown man who should have the maturity to not involve himself in this situation. His own comments show how little he cares about this woman:

Now he's telling her how to react? Of course his reaction is to wipe his hands and move on to the next affair, since that's what he's been doing most of his life. It's convenient to call woman girl bat-shit insane and compare her to some made-up movie where a spurned mistress reaction's were written and directed by men. Perhaps to her, the reaction is comparable to the mental anguish this piece of shit Phillips has made her feel. She most likely felt powerless. If ESPN has created a culture where men in positions of power just throw women out like this, who in the world could she feel comfortable to talk to at work? Maybe because of this, she goes with the scorched-earth tactic.

Phillips is getting what he deserves. His family isn't. But that's all on him, not her.

NOTHING explains that behavior. It doesn't matter that she's 22, or isn't that attractive and never had any "young, superficial guys breaking down her door before".

And since we're guessing....I'm gonna guess she had a thing for him, she told him all she wanted to do was fuck with no strings attached.....and the idiot fell for her line of bullshit. At first he thought she was fine with being the other woman....but after fucking her 3x he realized that wasn't the case and told her to scram.

I'm not excusing anything he did, he's a dirtbag and Poin is right.....don't cheat and you don't have this problem, but I'm willing to bet she's not some poor victim who was taken advantage of.

No, it isn't, because it attempts to absolve an adult of the guilt for her disgraceful behavior. It's not all on Phillips. Hundley is an adult, too. She fucked a married man and harrassed his wife and son. I have no sympathy at all for Phillips, but I sure as hell do for his wife and his kid.

I understand that Hundley may have been hurt. That doesn't give her the right to stalk the man's family. If she takes it out on him, I get that. But she went after the family.

Oop's right (that sounds odd). In all seriousness, there is plenty of blame to go around.

She is 22 and nuts. If she shot the wife, would you just blame Phillips and absolve her? She is a fucking adult who entered into a relationship with a married man knowing the consequences. Even though he is a con artist, the ultimate responsibilty for her behavior falls on her, not him.

Fucking your superior doesn't absolve you from stalking the wife and kids.

Some seem to think blame has to be assigned to either Phillips or Hundley. No, from what I can see, they both behaved abominably. Criticizing her does not mean your absolving him. And Phillips being a fucking pig doesn't mean she deserves sympathy.

I probably could sympathize with her if it was just the affair and the letter. But she went way over the line when she brought his poor wife and children in it, bombarding his wife with harassing phone calls and texts, posing as a high school student for weeks to try to get inside dirt on the family, no that ain't excusable at all.

OK, then it's 90% on Phillips.

Phillips' actions put his family in this situation, not Hundley's. She should not be absolved from blame for her irrational -- possibly illegal -- stalking behavior, but it's not her family that she put into this situation. It's his family, and his responsibility.

She could have said no. I can go along with Phillips being more at fault. But she's an adult and is responsible for her actions, too.
