I probably could sympathize with her if it was just the affair and the letter. But she went way over the line when she brought his poor wife and children in it, bombarding his wife with harassing phone calls and texts, posing as a high school student for weeks to try to get inside dirt on the family, no that ain't excusable at all.

Stoney....stop being rational! Don't you realize she's just a delicate woman, unable to ward of the advances of the predator she worked with. She doesn't have the ability to think for herself....she's only 22! They had a 3 week affair, and sex 3 times.......she can't be blamed for harassment and stalking his family.

Now he's telling her how to react? Of course his reaction is to wipe his hands and move on to the next affair, since that's what he's been doing most of his life. It's convenient to call woman girl bat-shit insane and compare her to some made-up movie where a spurned mistress reaction's were written and directed by men. Perhaps to her, the reaction is comparable to the mental anguish this piece of shit Phillips has made her feel. She most likely felt powerless. If ESPN has created a culture where men in positions of power just throw women out like this, who in the world could she feel comfortable to talk to at work? Maybe because of this, she goes with the scorched-earth tactic.

Phillips is getting what he deserves. His family isn't. But that's all on him, not her.

No, it isn't, because it attempts to absolve an adult of the guilt for her disgraceful behavior. It's not all on Phillips. Hundley is an adult, too. She fucked a married man and harrassed his wife and son. I have no sympathy at all for Phillips, but I sure as hell do for his wife and his kid.

I understand that Hundley may have been hurt. That doesn't give her the right to stalk the man's family. If she takes it out on him, I get that. But she went after the family.

I'm not absolving her behaviour as much as I'm trying to understand it.

The scorched-earth tactic that TSP describes is a good way to sum up what she's done here. Is it acceptable? No. Is it understandable? To me, sure.

Maybe in a perfect world, she could have come on SJ and started a thread under her "not" usual handle about how she's been done wrong, and we all could have commiserated with her and encouraged her through whatever she was feeling. Consider that perhaps she didn't have anyone who could have talked her out of her instinctive reaction to target Phillips' family. I don't know.

What I do know for certain is that if Phillips had merely kept his cock in his pants, something he apparently has significant trouble doing, none of this would have happened. He put his family in danger. So, yeah - ultimately he is responsible.

I've seen worse comments on this board directed at coaches who make a bad decision in a game, players who make an error and athletes who fail drug tests, let alone people who post here. These are grown ups, paid professionals. The only one deserving of sympathy is Phillips's family and the co-workers they put in an uncomfortable decision.

That's full of shit. Given his history with this sort of controversy, no one is shocked that Phillips is behaving this way. I don't see that anyone is approving of his behavior. There's an undertone of mockery that he's so hopelessly reckless that he would jeopardize his family life and career for a fling with someone like that.

Sorry, this is crap.

Believe it or not there isn't always a victim and frankly, the only people anyone should have even one ounce of sympathy for is the wife and kids of Phillips.

This chick is a psycho and while what Phillips did is embarrassing, it isn't criminal unlike what this 22-year old did.

She should be arrested and cited for harrassment and the bullshit she pulled with the facebook page - yep, they are safe, no wackos on those social networking sites -- communicating with the teenage boy shows she should then be institutionalized.

No way is this an issue of anything more than two adults acting like little kids.
