Something that the veterans know about Emergency that the rest of us young pups didn't know...

Julie London's ex-husband (Jack Webb) produced and wrote the show, and her husband at that time (Bobby Troup) was one of the doctors.  What was amazing was that there was no tension between the three of them during the series and remained friends.

Damn, boots, I'm scrapping here.  It sure as hell can't be Verne Troyer.  He was a babe when Itt showed up.   :D  I'll take another stab:  was it "Tattoo"?  Dee plane!  Dee plane!!!  This is Silla, whom Wikipedia says was best known to play Itt:  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Felix_Silla

By the way, this thread has rejuvenated my eccentric hobby of listening to t.v. and news theme songs/music.

Ah, I know that I'm old when I remember....

-the original theme to "House Calls" sounded like a porn movie and then the second version of the theme is the one everyone remembers.  I heart Dr. Weatherby and Lynn Redgrave
-Nickeoldeon had "Lancelot Link, Secret Chimp" on after school.  Ali Assa Seen, Wang Fu, Baron, Dragon Lady of CHUMP versus Lance, Mata, and Darwin of APE.
-Tootsie Rolls were 5 cents (now they are 25 to 30 cents)
-I only remembered Raymond Burr for being Chief of Detectives Robert Ironside.  I never knew how a cop could do his job in a wheelchair (off-topic: my public library has ordered season 1 of "Ironside."  I'm getting my hands on it when it arrives.  I'm a sucker for great t.v. theme music).  Then my dad introduced me to Perry Mason, my all-time favorite show.
-CBS and Fat Albert was the rage on Saturday mornings.  I didn't care too much for "The White Shadow" or "30 Minutes" hosted by the late Christopher Glenn on CBS.
-Linda Gray hosted a special about sex on CBS during the early 80's.  My mom kept shooing me away to bed, but I had the hots for Sue Ellen Ewing.  Billy Joel's "My Life" was the main theme of the special.
-The biggest story in my hometown's history was the slaying of two police officers near my grandparents house.  It was the biggest manhunt in Iowa history, and my dad (then a probation officer) damn near got wrongly accused for the crime.
-My old man buying a VCR and the first recording he ever made was the 25th anniversary special of Motown.
-Adam Walsh being kidnapped and the massive search for him.  For me, that was kind of the end of innocence when you could go outside and play by yourself.  That was also the same time when Johnny Gosch and Eugene Martin disapperared while delivering papers in Des Moines.  Scary shit.
-Davey and Goliath, the 700 Club, and PTL pushed their way onto cable.
-Everyone thought that "Murder One" would be the bomb on ABC.  Yeah, it was.  A bomb.  Just like "Supertrain," "Search" and "Hello Larry."
-Every local t.v. station had a great opening theme for their newscasts.  The same goes for t.v. shows.  None of this 5-second burp intros.
-When one of the big three networks interrupted with a news bulletin, they would abruptly cut away from the scheduled show, throw up the "News Bulletin" board and silence for nearly 10 seconds before the announcer says "This is a news bulletin from ABC (or someone else)."  That scared the shit out of me when that happened.
-Local t.v. stations had their horror movie shows on the weekends.  As cheesy as they were, they were classics.
-Freaking out when "One Life to Live" dumped their original theme for a new one, done by Peabo Bryson.  I started to like the new version, while Viki Buchanan was going in and out with her spilt personality, Niki Lord.
-Spending summers at my grandparents' house with my sister, and two cousins.  Everything we wanted to know about soap operas came from "Young and the Restless," "All My Children," As The World Turns," "Guiding Light" (I hated that sumbitch Alan), and seeing the end of "Edge of Night."
-"C'mon big bucks!  No whammies!!!!!!"  'Nuff said.
-Never knew why the rookies cops in the opening of "Quincy" disappeared as Jack Klugman was showing them "County Morgue 101".  They passed out or started to throw up.
-Debarge, Deniece Williams, Champaign, and Atlantic Starr was played repeatedly on my dad's "superior" stereo system on a Saturday afternoon while cleaning up the house and getting ready to head to Dairy Queen.
-Shows like "Angie" and "Remington Steele" were must sees on my list.

What show did these quotes come from?
"Let me get this straight. You want me to steal?"
"Oh look, Al, I'm not asking you to spy. Just asking you to steal."

    Good times, good times.   ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

I apologize. I apologize. Felix DID play Cousin Itt.
My trick trivia question should have been, who played Thing. The answer is "Itself". That's the way it is listed in the credits.
I profusely apologize for not giving you credit earlier.

No problem. Thing was a class by himself!!!! It was only necessary that he played himself--Itself.

Gosh, I feel like going out to a video store and start finding this stuff to watch again!!

Angie was a great show. Quick, in what smash movie hit did Donna Pescow get her big break?

    Saturday Night Fever.

She was the gal who hung around John Travolta and his cronies, hoping and wishing to be his girlfriend. Didn't happen. Until she ran into Robert Hayes in the cafe on "Angie."

Three degrees of separation: The Bee Gees did the SNF soundtrack and Pescow was a co-star. Ended up starring on Angie with Robert Hayes. Hayes goes to be Ted Striker on "Airplane." In the scene in the disco hall after WWII, "Stayin' Alive" was being played.

Yeah, I remember. I still say that that was real shit that was thrown against the fan!
You recall the scene when Hays says "Shit is going to hit the fan!?"

Bobby Troup was a jazz pianist and Julie London a jazz singer (with the definitive version of "Cry Me a River". How many other show can boast that!

Well, there's Jack Wagner and Rick Springfield from General Hospital who could give Troup and London a run for their money in the music department...

  12. It was on a local UHF station here. Found a two-disc DVD last year. Sweeeeeeet!
