Remember when gas stations still offered full service at the pumps...

Remember actually chewing Gatorgum (and how nasty Gatorade tasted at the time)...

Remember when TV stations signed off for the night with the national anthem...

Remember when pro wrestling was a strictly regional affair, and still pretty damned entertaining...

Remember when TV remote controls were actually attached to the TV with a cord...

Remember when goal posts on the football field were actually located on the goal line, not 10 yards deep.

    Rember:
    Fizzies

Those things in soda fountains that mixed the Coke and kept it swirling around.

    Candy cigarettes

    Frosty root beer

Greenie stick-um caps, Civil War forage caps

push-button gear shift on a Valiant

Esso stations, Mobil's Flying A, sunny dollars from Sunoco

And Donna Reed on the Donna Reed Show. The 1960's MILF.

-- remember going into a store and the cashier could give you change without a machine telling him/her how much to give you back.
-- seeing how many baseball games I could get on my radio (Pittsburgh, Baltimore, Cleveland, the Cubs, Philadelphia, Cincinnati and St. Louis were easy. On those nights when I could get the Expos' games in French, I loved that though I had no idea what they were saying.)
-- stores that were closed on Sundays.

Where I grew up, all but Baltimore and Philly were pick-up-able. Today, of course, I get the Rangers loud and clear, but I can't even get the Astros in this market. I can get the Rockies on KOA 850 on a clear night.

But to the Rangers, Stros and Rockies, why listen? I can drive up the road 30 miles and catch the fringe area of a Royals station. Same question applies. All of them suck.

I miss the Cards on KMOX. That's my problem.

Maybe someone can list all the AM blowtorch flagships. I can't find many anymore.

...when night time summer fun meant playing kick the can until 10 p.m. with just crickets singing in the background.

...when Blake Edwards' 10 was memorable for Bo only and you ignored how hilarious the movie was.

...getting hammered with Mickey's Big Mouth bottles was so easy.

...when Fred Williamson(?) was hawking Olde English/Schlitz on TV with "don't let the smooth taste fool you."

...eating a whole box of Sugar Frosted Flakes so you could get another box and another 3-D baseball card.
