When the worst thing you get from unprotected promiscuity was a case of the clap that a shot of penicillin rectified

When you didn't need a remote because the TV only had 6 channels

When you left a message with a person, not a machine

Wide World of Sports and the CBS Sports Spectacular with that great ELO song as the theme music.

OK, for that matter, Electric Light Orchestra

The song is "Fire on High." Great, great song. Great band, too.

Ha! So then you run across to the LIRR station and hope to get the last train to Penn Station...walk 8 blocks to the Port Authority and hope to get the last bus back to NJ!
And we actually did this shit when I was 15-16 years old!

You guys are bloody killing me, 'cause I remember:
    Gas at 17.9
    Cokes at a nickel
When Mars had a candy bar called "Forever Yours" instead of Milky Way Dark
Houston, Texas had only two TV stations, and one of those was licensed to Galveston. One went off at midnight, the other fter the 10:00 PM news and didn't come back on until 8:00 AM the next morning.
Legal slot machines at the VFW hall
NO TV!!! until I moved to Big "H", and having to listen to Lum 'N Abner and Gene Autry on the radio
First baseball game I say on TV had Dizzy Dean and Buddy Blatner doing the play-by-play and color, sponsored by Blatz Beer
When the first beer cans came out, and Miller had different colored cans! (in pastel, no less)

There is oh, so much more. But since I lost my short term memory in the '70's, I can't remember any more. (JOKING!!! It was just a great line from Dharma and Greg, and i had to use it.)

When PacMan first came out on Atari and you thought it was the BOMB!!

When the first Star Wars figures came out and you saved the proof of purchase so you could send off for the little stand with the star wars cardbard background.

When NBA players wore "nutters" and could knock the shit out of each other in the playoffs without being suspended i.e. McHale on Rambis after Bird called his team out.

When baseball players just took greenies and not roids or HGH!
