  4. This is really hard:
I base this on two criteria: Moives I own and watch a lot; or movies that I will watch (rather than flip back and forth) when they are on cable.

    Post 1984:
The Highlander (There can be only ONE!)
    Uncle Buck
    Payback (Mel Gibson flick)
    Tombstone
Happy Gilmore (God damn, does this movie make me laugh)
    Independence Day
    Armagedden
    Saw
    The Usual Suspects
    The Prestige
    Goodfellas

    Pre 1985:
The Shootist (my fav. John Wayne movie)
    A Christmas Story
    Treasure of Sierra Madre
    Bridge on the River Kwai
    It's a Wonderful Life
Rocky Horror Picture Show (not the fan-along shit... The original - as it was writtten - movie)
    Amazon Women on the Moon
    The Godfather I
    The Godfather II
    Airplane!

  8. Broadcast News is a good choice. Don't own it, but I turn to it and leave it there everytime it comes on. I'm addicted to any journalism-related movie that even comes close to getting it right. So few do.

It's possible I missed this and tell me if I have, but I don't recall having seen anyone list "Groundhog Day." That would definitely be in my top 10 list if I had remembered it when I did my list.

I would've added Planes, Trains and Automobiles to my list if allowed. Anyone got time to read the posts and tally which 10 were mentioned most?
