Beusse out at USA Today Sports

Given the talent and size of the editorial staff that USA TODAY Sports has hired under Morgan, I'm not sure Deadspin Lite was what they were striving for. Nor something to be proud of.

Beusse out at USA Today Sports

Agreed. Digitally, USAT Sports has become a cross of ESPN, Deadspin and TMZ, but not as good as any of them. It's odd, though. The Morgan crew has hired tons of great talent. I'm just not sure what everybody does other than collect a paycheck. Almost all the content that gets heavy promotion...

Where's Chris Snow these days? He's not with the Wild anymore, right?

Young Gun for Hire Looking for Advice From Old Hands

I'm not saying this to be harsh, so I apologize if it comes off that way. But if I were you, I'd spend some time sharpening your grammar skills. I know it's just a forum, so perhaps that explains it, but there are a handful of mistakes in your posts. As an editor, I'm looking for freelancers who...

    49ers beat, Santa Rosa, Calif.

What's the circ? Close to 100K? I'd like to think the premier beat writer job at a Northern California paper is making at least $75, no?

Buffalo Wild Wings is coming to Canada.....

I'm clearly in the minority, but I think B-Dub is pretty damn good for a chain. It's sauce is fantastic, and the beer isn't too expensive. You could do a lot worse. I only go when I'm in the burbs, but for suburban eating it's good.

    U. of Va. magazine editor commits suicide, blames bullying boss

I'm sure the boss is a huge asshole, but I feel it's unfair to blame him for the suicide. And I feel it's irresponsible journalism to imply he played a part in it. There are a lot of horrible bosses in the world, and most people don't go as far as to kill themselves. It's horrible what...

And the Oscar goes to...(nominations released)

I thought Where the Wild Things should have been nominated over Blind Side or Precious and Star Trek over District-9.

    Esquire vs. GQ

At its best, Esquire is my favorite of the two. But it tends to coast 2-3 issues a year. GQ is a bit more consistent.

Michael Phelps' middle name is apparently Spicoli

The problem is when an athlete from a major sport gets a DWI and gets caught smoking dope, he's usually crucified. Carmelo Anthony is considered a thug, and he hasn't done anything much worse than Phelps other than one in-game punch.

    Chiropractor Question

Has anybody seen a chiropractor? I am considering it, but I know they often get a bad rep. I like holistic treatments, so figured this would be a good way to try to treat back pain. Any stories or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    The Wire: Episode 60 "-30-"

Re: The Wire: Episode 60 "-30-" (NO SPOILERS IN STARTUP POST) If you don't start at the beginning it'll be really hard to follow, not to mention appreciate.

    The Wire: Episode 58

Great episode. Best of season, by far. Does anybody know if the last episode is two hours; I've heard rumors that's the case. It seems impossible to touch on everything in two more hours. Even small stuff, like Rawls at the gay bar in season 3. I keep waiting for something to come of that, but...
