    BBWAA vote on MLB.com

Spnited, I believe that this won't have any effect on guys like Noble who are 10 year members. I believe they are lifetime members at that point. It is geared toward people who are starting out there or make the jump before they're 10 years in. I'm not 100 percent certain about this, but I'm...

    "I wasn't willfully-blind when I wrote 'Summer of '98' -- not ME!"

I don't think Bob Nightengale gets enough credit for being ahead of the curve on the steroids issue. Here is a story he wrote in the LA Times in 1995. He wrote a few others after this, too. Steroids Become an Issue Baseball: Many fear performance-enhancing drug is becoming prevalent and...

NY Times "Feel Good" Jets Coverage

Karen is a very talented reporter and writer, but she is misplaced as the Jets beat reporter. She would be much better in a role like that of Lee Jenkins. She writes stories that have nothing to do with the current state of the team much of the time. They're just fluffy features. I know the...

So if Torre stays...(a journalism question)

Spnited, Just because you work at a paper that's closer to NYC than some others does not mean you know the ins and outs of the New York tabs. You're way off on some of what you've asserted in your posts.

So if Torre stays...(a journalism question)

Spnited, How the heck do you know what the mentality is at the News and the Post? Do you work for one of them? Have you ever? This may be your perception, but there are plenty of writers at both papers that value journalism and don't just "throw shirt against the wall."
