Heart goes out to those who got "pulled aside" tonight.
They can name themselves if they wish. I won't.
Three of the six cuts on the first floor in West Palm Beach came from the sports department.
The other three layoffs/early retirements are on news side.
The sports department did not expect...
Too funny. It's been since 2007 since I last logged onto this site, and I remember your name posting jobs (don't remember where) and 'bumping' postings. Thanks for the memory.

Hey all,
Just checked. Been since 2007 since I last logged in. Been fortunate since then in my SoFla shop. Not much chatter about Lansing State Journal. I heard the sports editor lost his job, and that hits me hard. He was there at the start of my career 25 years ago.
So I'm asking ...

Yep, there's a new prep hire. She started last week.
And as far as the Web job ... the desk does the bulk if not all of the editing and headline writing. The Web producer just needs to know how to get the information on the site and make it look good.
Think of this as a 'design' job and not...

My subscription to the Miami Herald pays for itself. I use at least $5 in coupons each week at Publix. Sometimes more.
What I read in the paper, spread out on the kitchen table with my breakfast, is a bonus.
