The Herald's executive editor, Anders Gyllenhaal, said in a separate e-mail the layoffs include 33 full-time and eight part-time newsrooms positions. He said some remaining staff will see their hours cut.

Latest in at least one South Florida media blog is that this will happen by Friday.
