    Rob Neyer to SB Nation

I know you're kidding, but for the record that wasn't Jim, since we were all sitting in our conference room while that message was posted. Secondly, there were many things written back when SB Nation got the C round of funding ... this provides a nice sampling...

It's official: No more sports at Washington Times

Clayton is definitely a stringer, fwiw. TWT has a policy by which regular or exclusive stringers get a straight "The Washington Times" byline instead of the "Special To The TWT" that most of our stringers get. We have a couple guys -- running columnist, part time writers -- who get that...

    Equipment question for reporters

I've got a couple writers interested in the new mini-computers. For example, the HP Mini: http://www.hpoffers.com/mini.php?TRACKING_ID_K=kw629845 Have any of you reporters out there used one or something like it? If so, what are the pros, cons, recommendations? Thanks.

About three and a half miles from the most easy-to-get-to Metro stop, the Florida Ave/New York Ave spot. But that's largely irrelevant as it relates to this opening because of Metro hours, shuttle hours, etc.

Yes, bottom line is that there are places in DC and in the immediate area that are reasonably affordable; it's a sliding scale depending on one or two incomes, roommate or no roommate, size of your apartment/condo/home, and where exactly you live. Commute and the treachery of traffic is the...

I was that guy clapping in the bar when he called on Ward.

I think he did a fine job choosing which newspapers he would accept questions from.

OK, it's official: We hired Mike Petre for our other copy editor spot. Mike comes our way after stops at the Va Pilot and the Northern Virginia Daily. Hi folks, As Harrison said, we conducted a few interviews last week, then I went on vacation, then Mark went on vacation. ... so it's on hold for a couple weeks -- bad timing all around unfortunately (though it is nice to take a vacation). Expect to hear more in a couple weeks. Thanks for your...

Bad news at the Washington Times: The cafeteria vendor isn't ready! Oh, no!

Ours was pretty nice, all things considered. plenty of options. Tuesday is when the new company starts though, it will be interesting to see what they bring to the table, so to speak. The USA Today/Gannett cafeteria is pretty incredible, at least it was the last time I visited it.

Considering the time of year (NFL, College Football, Pro training camps starting soon), sooner than later for sure; we can't really afford to go another man down on the desk. We already have some good resumes in and would love to see a few more; we have not scheduled any interviews yet.

    Gannett joins the club?

Eight O'Clock came recommended to me by a crazy New Yorker who worked in the press room at my old paper ("you can see the oil still on the beans!") and by my dad, who met my mom at A&P. I haven't taken much of his advice over the years, but I'll give him a check mark for the coffee. And yes, the...
