Crap. The Mrs. Is going to make me get a magazine from the store today
And from what I'm seeing on teh Twitterez, there's multiple covers.

A feel-good pick after Elon?
World leaders, astronauts, scientists, Hitler ... Taylor Swift?

Guess they won't be picking Greta "From The River To The Sea . . . " Thunberg again.

And why didn't the new hire at Gannett break the story?

As the story states, Swift was the main character of 2023. I really don't know who else it could have been.

(And the extra newsstand sales to Swifties certainly won't hurt the bottom line.)

It's for sales. Little more.

In the arts the person of the year is Greta Gerwig. But Barbie hit over the summer, and Gerwig isn't dating a football-playin, Jabroni-hatin teammate of Patrick Mahomes.

It's always for sales, little more. But I think a case can be made that Swift deserved it over anybody else and the article does a great job of laying out that case. But, darn, it's a long read.
