2025-star Frog Splash! Pro Wrestling Thread

As noted, Triple H and then Rock did some deep dives into what went into tonight. The Rock's presser sounded like it could be reused for a documentary in a few years. And then we got this from Cena, which was also perfect.

Cena walks into the presser, sits down, drops the mic and walks out.
Who says kayfabe is dead?

(And yes, I know Triple H just spent 20 minutes giving a surprising amount of detail about what went into the turn right before that)

I remember seeing an interview with Cena somewhere a long time ago where he explained that while fans may want him to turn heel, it wouldn't happen simply because he was at the top of the merchandise list and if he turned heel, the E would lose money.

I'd imagine some of the transparency with this heel turn is to explain to investors why their meal ticket is going away.

I think Cody and Roman are in a position to replace the meal ticket in ways no one ever was in the Super Cena era. I think the fanatics deal probably changes the economics of all that as well.

Super curious to see if Cena continues to show up in his typical merch, wears suits, or if he has some black, heelish merch that will fly off the shelves anyways

Also. Are we buying this theory that Rock's 3 finger throat slash at Badd Blood was a reference to Cena all along?!?

Or do we still think there was never a plan for that and its a coincidence?

Do we finally get his unreleased heel theme?

Never heard that before, but that would be awesome.

Now having a chance to watch back some bits of the show again ... not to be lost in what happened at the end, Jade looked like an absolute badash (with help from Naomi's awesome selling) at the start. Rhea/Bianca will be a great match at Mania, but a Rhea/Jade match somewhere down the road would be great business as well.

Jade really has been treated greater and come into her own more than her AEW TBS title run, which basically consisted of her beating enhancement talents most of the time. It wasn't until the end of her run with Statlander where we saw what Jade was capable of, but it was too late by that point.

I am not a fan of the heel turn. I liked that he had never turned—it made him unique—and I really don't think that at this stage of his career there are many people that want to boo him.

I suspect that before very long he will turn back to face, and set up a final career match between him and the Rock.

Right, now he'll likely get the cheers Hogan got went he went heel … just because it's something different. He's going to have do good work in turning the crowd against him and try to not look like the cool heel.

And right, it'll be a short, Big Show-esque heel run as he'll turn back before December.
