2025-star Frog Splash! Pro Wrestling Thread

As a non-WWE watcher, are they mocking lucha or doing a tribute to it with this angle?

Think the style of a take off on the Conquistadors of Edge and Christian

Saw some online complaints about the intro video being AI, some of the fans have 6 fingers (a sign of AI art). Like, no kidding….. Mysterio will definitely point this out next week

Good showing with Dark Side on Foley. Yes, it covered a lot of territory that wrestling fans already knew, but it was certainly more critical than any WWE production would be, talking to Foley, family and past WWE/F folk about the damage it (and the infamous "I quit" match) caused for his future well-being.

It's remarkable that Foley remains as lucid and well-spoken as he is, but I think everybody knows the switch could flip in the coming years.

Jim Ross was involved, which was suiting, and I appreciated the insight from Al Snow, Gerald Brisco and the French trainer/doctor the company had at the time.

Next week: Ludvig Borga.

He was really good during the recent Foley/Rock Rivals episode.

I've worked in hockey a long time and know a guy who played for many years in the NHL, probably known more for fighting than anything else. Also very lucid but he did tell me once he wondered if the day would come when he would wake up and not remember where he left his keys.

If the world didn't already have enough wrestling-related programming, I caught the first episode of Stephanie McMahon's interview series on ESPN+ with Punk. Nothing earth-shattering, but it's harmless.

Though I did like the part of where they showed interviews of him from after his initial exit asking if he'd ever return to pro wrestling -- and they fast-forward right to Survivor Series 2023. 😂

Damn, how far they fall. I thought the guy was actually showing some promise at the end of his NXT run, with some actual heart when he was with Stone and talking about his health issues.

When Rob Van darn thinks you're becoming too extreme, maybe it's time to take a good, hard look in the mirror.

LOL. He's not done a match with AEW since a 4/20 match in 2024.

I don't get the outrage about the spot Mox did. His back wasn't even bleeding by the end of the match. He got superficial wounds. It was probably safer than doing a barbed wire table spot or an old-fashioned chair shot to the head.
