It didn't earn any money. A company like that never exists in the first place, without distorted debt markets promulgating a survival of the unfittest environment.
The company wasn't at the whim of "mercurial tech titans." It was was at the whim of central banks disorting debt markets with zero percent intrest rates to make it so that things that lose money can keep borrowing and selling equity. And it "turned to dust," when the consequence of that -- monetary inflation -- became enough of a problem that they felt forced to let interest rates rise a little.
Without the ability to ride a monetary bubble, the company -- which wasn't viable because it didn't earn money -- ended.
Peter is kind of ridiculous at times. ... but I saw this the other day, and it is mostly correct.
