A daytonadan update

One incident, I think you could reasonably talk yourself back into things. After four, it's probably time to hang it up (or at least seriously throttle back) if you're able to.
Take care of yourself, man. Those road trips to Itta Bena and Pine Bluff can be somebody else's adventure.

Glad to see they got you into good hands, and quickly.

You've been through a lot, and you owe it to yourself at this point to chill for a bit if you can. Easier said than done, especially depending on how financial situations are, I get it.

Not sure what your family situation is, but take that into account too.

Wishing you the best.

Get well, be well, and live well.

If I were you, and you're able to do so, I'd retire, or work part-time at the most.

There's more to life than work, and as they look back, no one on their deathbed -- hopefully years in the future, still -- ever says they wished they would've worked more.

Do the things you really want to do, spend your time with those most important to you, and consciously appreciate every day.

Even if you aren't otherwise in position to retire, you very well may qualify for SSI disability. It certainly sounds like a talk with your primary care physician is in order.

Be prepared to have to appeal, though. They usually reject any first claim. Seems to be the system's inefficient way of weeding out illegitimate cases.

How was the food and what did they serve in the hospital?

Here's to a speed recovery.

And who won the game?

So on the first day to work, I get to ask the first question at the press conference for our new football coach, which is kinda cool since I wrote his freshman media guide bio 30 years ago.

Then another one of my former players sends me his photos from the 80 for Brady set where he had a few lines in his first movie role

Next day, the former football GA who is now coaching for the Chiefs calls me from Phoenix after his Super Bowl practice. Also, a Chiefs player is the stepson of one of our former players.

Those are three good writes.

Things are going to be OK.
