With New Year's Eve/Day approaching, here's a link to a humorous old column by the late, great Mike Royko on how to deal with the aftereffects of ringing in the new year a bit too enthusiastically. Being more than 40 years old, some of the references are a bit dated, and it's also geared toward Chicago's winter climate. But it's still good for a laugh or two -- and it's also a holiday-themed column that's actually readable.

Bump.

Very well done. Going to share it with friends, particularly because I've done the "fall asleep in the bathtub" thing.

I've never done it deliberately, but forcing yourself to puke before you go to sleep can be a big help.

Copious water, some food and aspirin/Tylenol/ibuprofen before sleep help.

Bad hangover day of = Pedialyte and Exedrin and lots of sleep
