No not Twitter or a Twitter knockoff. Just a regular, searchable blog with maybe two or three sentences per entry.

I'm kicking around an idea for a vanity project where I would be posting a short item each day for five months. No photos, no video, no fancy formatting. Literally something where I can post my blurb and go on with my day. I'll put the link out there for friends to find but I doubt I'll get much traffic, and certainly I don't expect to monetize anything.

Given all that, I would obviously like to use a free or next-to-free hosting site. I don't need something as powered up as WordPress. Anybody know of something that would fit the bill?

If want you own domain name, I don't think there's much out there at this free or next to free.

If you don't care about domain name, just start a free wordpress, blogger, or weebly account and post there. If you're just posting links on socials for five months, I don't think domain name matters.

If you want hits from search, you need your own domain name and you need to post more than short items anyway.

Buy a domain name at namecheap or porkbun .com

Host at Blue Host, Host Gator, or Hostinger.

I have a friend who does this but he adds photos or video to his few sentences. He may have 7-8 at the most, in two or three paragraphs.

Has little traction other than friends and family, and no ads or monetization. He's a great guy but what he's doing is just more noise in the machine.
