Hi. I've been out of the loop of the business for a while and am trying to catch up with where people are. Between layoffs, early retirements and the rise of substack, I'm a little lost.

Who are some the better guys or gals who have left print recently. I'm really interested in people in Big 12/SEC country.

I'm sure you can just Google the ones you liked.

Unless you're looking for someone to mentioned yourself, in which case, you can find that in the mirror.

Zing, MMS.

But in all honesty, Sill, this hasn't been the best place to catch up on former journos. When people quietly slip out of the biz, their whereabouts aren't thoroughly detailed here. Layoffs and notable deaths are, however.

I'm not a fan but the guy from Pittsburgh splitting to do his own thing deserves some recognition. Probably not the first to do it but he was the first major metro type I noticed. Seems like it worked out, so kudos to him. Takes some gumption to make a move like that before the path has been paved.

Agreed on all counts. Even has an office in downtown Pittsburgh, which is an impressive investment in both money and faith.

I found it interesting that Dejan was able to navigate some questions about sexual harassment without any major blowback.

Greg Bedard is still going with Boston Sports Journal, even after some rumors it was in trouble early on.
