Others here can tell you what a springboard this paper is. Some might even call it a launching pad.

Thus improving the Sentinel's sports section immensely.

(Note: Since this came up the last time her name was mentioned --- or was it the time before that? --- I have never competed with Jemele Hill for a job, never competed with her on a beat, nothing like that. But she's not a good sports columnist.)

If it's true and she's receiving a two-year, $400k deal, someone thinks she's pretty good. Just a thought.

I read her column on the Miami brawl just because she gets so much pub on here. Thought it was middling - certainly not to the levels of awfulness that gets ascribed to her here.

I just really, really hope that the WWL doesn't try to make her dance, if you know what I mean.

I like Hill. She's one of the few sports columnists I can stand. Anyone who thinks she sucks hasn't bothered read her stuff. Yes, she's made some major mistakes (the Sexton column and the blog come immediately to mind), but to write her off as untalented or a "diversity hire" is bullshirt.
