We are looking for a full-time sports writer to cover the James Madison football beat at the Daily News-Record. JMU is about to move to the FBS level and join the Sun Belt Conference. Send a cover letter, resume and three of your best clips to celliott@dnronline.com.

Also looking for a part-time sports reporter to cover high school and Division III athletics for up to 20 hours per week in the Harrisonburg/Rockingham County area. Send a cover letter, resume and three of your best clips to celliott@dnronline.com.

The JMU football job is the most high-profile beat in the Shenandoah Valley region. I'm covering it now, and the experience level of the pool of candidates might determine how much I continue to contribute there in the future, but I'd honestly like to get back to focusing on college basketball. The part-time job might also include some duties like proofing pages as they come out of the universal desk, which is located about an hour away in Winchester.
