Gannett, Gatehouse talking merger

In the news biz - i've learned to read "exciting" as "pack your bags terrible."

I know there's much more on employees' minds, but just once, I'd like to see at least one, and many more if possible, just start ripping on the executive who calls the changes "exciting."

Give them something like, "We're worried about keeping our jobs and supporting our families. What the fork is so exciting about getting laid off, or having our benefits cut?"

"Exciting" means more money for Forman.

Real exciting for the CEO who makes $4.5 million a year while working class staffers lose their jobs. Bravo!
One of the nonsequitirs of all time. Why pay any CEO that kind of money when the business is bleeding cash every single day?

Keep a side eye on USAT. I'm telling you now.

GannettHouse is already pressing for byline changes IDing the state (in AP style) in the attribution. USAT might see this Christmas, but it won't see the next.
