Assistant AD for storytelling?

Gotta love titles for academia. I work at a university and might be the only one with the title "writer and editor." Everyone else has titles like assistant director, senior media relations specialist and communications coordinator, even though we all do roughly the same job.

The one I see a lot of is "Assistant athletic director for football communications."
 
I went from staff writer to senior writer after I reminded the boss longer than the students have been alive....It was a two minute fix...and when students asked the difference, I said, it means I don't have to go to every practice...
 
This could get entertaining.

I never thought I'd be telling this story. But I was a student at a large midwestern ̶B̶i̶g̶ ̶8̶ ̶B̶i̶g̶ ̶1̶2̶SEC university when the softball player dressed in cutoff shirts and a halter top knocked on my office door and asked for a drink of water. I said all I had was a hose.

Longtime Waco Tribune-Herald reporter/assistant sports editor Jerry Hill joined the Baylor athletic department several years back. His title is director of sports journalism.
