Guess this means the Mizzou beat writer job at the P-D is open

Gotta love titles for academia. I work at a university and might be the only one with the title "writer and editor." Everyone else has titles like assistant director, senior media relations specialist and communications coordinator, even though we all do roughly the same job.

When I was working at a university the HR department cleaned up titles throughout the school, no more "senior" this or "associate" that. Officially, you were just X. I understood it in terms of making job listings and pay scales easier to understand, but it still drove most people crazy to lose their adjectives.

Storytelling is an important job at Mizzou since the actual on-field product demonstrates year-upon-year that they never have, and likely, never will win jack shirt in anything.
