In junior high, one teacher called us by our last names. It was because we had 4 guys named Chris, two named Russell and a couple of Amandas, etc. in the same class
The guys didn't care because we had all played sports, been on teams, been called by our last names. The girls had trouble with it. They had never been referred to by their last names.
