What is up with the Minneapolis/St. Paul media? Just earlier today I saw a clip where a TV sports reporter ended an interview with a talented senior WR prospect by saying, "You gotta go to the Gophers!"

The kid must've been Michael Floyd. Committed to Notre Dame according to Shooter. Fear the Gopher...

Classic.

Have you ever seen an Angry Gopher?

He probably just got his ass handed to him by NDSU.

Goldy saw you rooting for NDSU on the College Football thread and farts in your general direction.

Sid! was a great reporter. Still probably is decent. And, yes, he does know where every body is buried.

Yeah, he knows where everybody is buried because he's been around for everybody's funeral. Him and Dracula.

Uh, why are you posting someone else's column as an example of what not to do? ::)

People like you are the reason some SportsJournalists.commers don't want to poke their heads in the Writer's Workshop.

If nothing else, this thread has made evident how many one-named celebrities there have been in Minnesota.

Like Prince?

I just about spit my beer all over the computer screen when I saw this.

Sid is a different breed. Most of the stuff in the writers workshop isn't based on being a cloying fan-boy booster..

Please tell me you're kidding.

As Slappy so rightly pointed out, King Sid is a different breed -- a doddering old fool who has been in this business for over 60 years and is so intertwined in the Minneapolis Brotherhood he has no concept of impartiality.

He is the rudest thing I've ever come across in a press box, treating the rest of the inmates as beneath his contempt.

During my time in the employ of a Minnesota pro sports team years back, never once did I hear any other sports writer spoken about with contempt, save King Sid.

The sad thing is, the column which brought on this thread isn't even the worst he's written.

Forever,
If seeing us pick apart a column by Sid Freakin Hartman keeps someone from posting in the writer's workshop, they have bigger issues than not posting there,..

Forever -- It's Sid. He's the single biggest ass I've ever encountered in this business, and I'll make fun of him for the rest of his life.

Did you read the column?

Which, at his current rate of decay, rivals C. Montgomery Burns.
