Immaculate grid

I thought NFL would be easy, but it broke my spirit. They also threw a college team in there, one renowned for RBs and LBs, and my recall beyond the basics was nil.

You forget until you do one of these things that most NFL players spend time with one or two teams.

Kickers and punters tend to bounce around, so they could help some days. It isn't helping me today. I've got six boxes, but the Seahawks part of it has me stumped.

Edit: Player for the Browns and the Seahawks just hit me. I can't believe I almost missed that one.

Went 9/9 today, with a rarity score of 132. Looks like today was an easy one, though. A lot of the difficulty was guessing which obvious answer fewer people picked for the 40+ homer boxes.

Trying to find the less obvious answer is the death knell for me today. Stupid lack of Cardinals obscure 40-HR hitters.

I found my recall of post-80s Tigers and any Rockies players beyond the basics is null and void. Obscurantist knowledge of relief pitchers and bench players is completely missing for me and the Rockies, which kills you in this exercise. Much of a muchness for both clubs over those years.

9/9 with a rarity of 79. Admittedly helped by the Braves being one of the columns.

.006% for Braves/Cardinals

Thank you, Ramon Caraballo.

0.05% today for Braves-Yankees, and a good trivia question.

Jim Bouton.

I also went old-school for one player out of lifelong respect and admiration.

Sandy Koufax.

Gonna do that often, too. Game seems even more fun when you can reach back decades for some slots.

Yeah, I'll often resist posting the first one I thought of in hopes I can eventually remember a more obscure player from my misspent youth. It gets harder when a 1990s expansion team is involved.
