In-n-Out: Overrated.

Krystal is good for 2 a.m. burgers after a heavy night of drinking. Other than that...yuck.

Whataburger. Five Guys is really, really, good. But Whataburger stands alone.

When I lived in Phoenix, Whatas were dumps.

Have things changed in 20 years?

Why does Whataburger stand alone? What separates it from other burgers? I mean, if Five Guys is really, really good....is Whataburger really, really, really, really, really good?

Without this board, I never would have heard of Whataburger and I've lived all over the country.

The quality of the burger and the bun varies wildly at the Five Guys in my area. The one closest to my house is not very good, but one that's about 15 minutes away is consistently much, much better.

Whataburger is the best of the traditional drive-thru burger joints.

Never had In n Out... but I will as soon as I get near one.

As for Five Guys... there's nothing not to love. Fries are fresh-cut and delicious. The "cheeseburger", which is really a double, kicks ass. One order of fries is sufficient for two people, unless you're on the competitive eating circuit. Sure it takes longer, but it's DAMN worth it.

Five Guys go-to: bacon cheeseburger with jalapenos, green peppers, grilled onions, grilled mushrooms and A-1. Have mercy.

It's obvious that good food can be placed in the category alongside math as things journalists generally struggle to understand.

I figured there was a 120 percent chance you'd say that.
