Lee fires paper's only full-timer for doing interview

fork Lee and everything it and their "suits" are about.

But ...

I couldn't imagine doing that interview and expecting to keep my job. Especially with Lee, which (no first-hand knowledge) seems to be all about firing people and gutting newsrooms.

Seems more than a little naïve to think that would be an OK story to participate in.

And again, fork Lee and everything it and their "suits" are about.

A dastardly act but retaliation against public criticism of Lee is to be expected. Yes, we have freedom of speech but speaking out in public against your employer, in any industry, is a major risk unless you are a union leader

Reading the original story, it doesn't seem like she's really criticizing Lee, other than when she says it's "cool slash demoralizing" about how there are less staffers. Which can be true. It is demoralizing when employees are cut.

Unless she is supposed to ask Lee for permission before speaking to other reporters, I don't see what Lee's problem here is other than hypersensitivity over criticism with its slash and burn tactics. Nothing in the article is false. And her tweet is also true.

It's some corporate jackasses at Lee who just are mad that they're being called out.

I have first-hand knowledge, and you are spot-on correct.
