What Lin has done in his first 4 starts is amazing. Yeah its NY, that's probably 75% of the hype, but still not many players ever have done this, score 100 in their first 4 starts and to have them lead to wins, which is the most important stat.

Funny thing is that almost universally, the pundits are predicting problems when 'Melo comes back because he's a "ball-stopper." Which means Lin becomes the spot up shooter. Well, how about 'Melo for Howard? Nah, already have Chandler. (BTW, the good screen is under-appreciated, last night wanted a screen, went right and my man was still there, where was the screen? Guy missed.)

Can he keep it up? Most likely not, but damn, 38 over the Lakers at MSG? What a memory to have.

BTW, I really want to buy a Lin jersey. I figure three things can happen from here on out: 1) He becomes a decent Knick, spends 10 years with the team and is a solid NBA player, if not especially noteworthy outside of the initial burst. B) He becomes a Hall of Famer in the mold of Steve Nash, dishing, scoring and generally running a prolific offense (one that probably won win an NBA Championship because, well, D'Antoni is at the helm). or D) He flames out in spectacular fashion and 20 years from now, owning a Lin jersey from his big season is like owning a Fidrych jersey. Given that they were trapping the screen-roll, it made sense to leave him there alone. Since he was getting to the lane, it was a really smart play for him to take advantage of the space and take the outside shot

I think that's more a product of how the Knicks have played the last two years, with the black holes of passing Carmelo Anthony and Amare Stoudamire, as opposed to any function of Lin's game. I almost get the feeling that the rise of Lin has partially been a result of Mike D'Antoni going, "fork it," and trying to do things his way because he knows he's going to get fired, a la the entire plot of "Bullworth."

The most ever in X amount of starts (since merger) things are getting a bit much. For instance, with 30 turnovers he has the most turnovers in his first starts since 1978. Not sure who had that before.
