Mike Reed Sets Goals for New Gannett

As of February, the Trenton Times is no longer printed and the paper long ago folded its website into Advance's nj.com site. There is no reporting of Trenton news. The horrid Trentonian survives as the sole newspaper.

Ran across this today: Organizers Canceled the Hilton Head Marathon Just 2 Weeks Before the Race. They Never Had a Permit

The Hilton Head Marathon & 10K/5K organizers canceled everything two weeks prior, citing unforseen issues with safety and other concerns.

In reality, they didn't have permits from local law enforcement that was concerned on multiple issues regarding safety. No permits = no official ability to put on an event, be on major roads, safety, etc.

"Ventures Endurance" puts on the marathon and is owned by Gannett. It also does the Hot Chocolate Run series, Statesman Cap10K in Austin and Milwaukee Marathon.

That cancellation certainly is a Moment of Life. Everything is awesome!

Did the local paper get the perspectives of local runners regarding Gannett's failure to do its job?
