More CNHI

The rollout has been hairy at times, mostly due to inaccurate inch counts and publisher-mandated rules about obits, but it's working smoothly. There is some headline writing involved because when you get a 10-word SEO-ready headline and try and fit it in one column, it's impossible. The trick is communication between the design hub and the local desks. I have had no issues so far. Now, when six different dailies want custom agate sections all at the same time -- I might be singing a different tune.

I'm the opposite. Design and copy-editing are different disciplines. It was nice, and better, when you had separate teams for each. I'd rather not do both every night.
I always preferred to do my own copy editing when I was designing, unless deadlines made it impossible. Quite often I'd move stories and art around on the page and those changes on the fly are harder when there's a second person involved.

Sounds like a major corporate shakeup is in the works...they're apparently going to split this company in half, not sure how yet. Also not sure how many of the current division managers there will be. It's just not developing and have only heard snippets. CNHI continues to just run the company right into the dirt. Each decision these brilliant execs come up with is worse and more detrimental/destructive than the last.

The good news is that within three years there won't be a company left to ruin.

To all my friends at CNHI properties --- and there are plenty of good, decent, hard-working people there --- get out as soon as possible. This company is to newspaper what the Titanic was to cruise ships.

Two week notices have become more and more steady lately, not going to lie. Rightfully so. I love the people I work with so it will be tough to leave, but definitely beginning to work on the next step.

Sounds like IHateSprintSports's info on corporate shakeup is true; have heard from insider that Henry Bird, a senior VP and regional manager for the East Coast (and publisher in Anderson, Ind.) is "no longer with the company" as CNHI announcements usually tersely put it. Wonder what else is down the line?

The sooner this company dies and properties can find respectable owners, the better.

A shread of faith in humanity remains.

I've heard positive things about Warren Buffett.

Buffett isn't trying to buy CNHI. It's not at a yard sale yet, but from the way you guys talk, it's headed there.
Been there, done that.

Why would Warren Buffett want to buy CNHI?

Some of you people don't have a shred (or shread) of intelligence.
