What do we make of this?

I'd like to know what the "conditional approval" was.
Conditional upon not making sexless harpies angry?

A Reuters employee who insisted on anonymity out of concern at angering management said that the 20 or so employees at the markets desk where Mr. Maguire had been one of two editors in charge “took a group coffee break” in solidarity on Thursday.

Is this like what happened in Miami?

He kind of had to know that was coming or else the "liberal media are out to destroy me" card would have been yanked out of the deck and played all over TV.
There are certain things worth getting fired over and writing an anti-Ann Coulter book certainly ain't one of them.

More than somewhat surprised. We're talking Reuters, for heaven's sake. Want to know
more about the backgrounds of the person(s) who made the final decision . . .
