Fun TV show but his singing career included one of the worst ballads of the 1970s. The key change in the middle of "Don't Give Up On Us Baby" is so horribly mastered it sounded like someone accidentally stretched the audio tape.

As soon as I mentioned his name to my wife, she started singing that song.

RIP.

All of us wanted to slide across the hood of a Ford Gran Torino at least once in the 1970s, except the owner would have kicked our asses for denting it.

I forget what year it was we went to a race at Michigan. One of our stops was Ford. We saw a Gran Torino assembly line, and every car coming off of it had the red paint job with the white check.
Being 7-8, I was like "Oooooooooo."

Got a chuckle from this BBC piece referring to Clint Eastwood's character in Magnum Force as Harold Callahan.
The late James Garner mentioned in his memoir that David Soul took a physical beating on S&H, much like Garner on R Files. Both apparently did a lot of their own stunt work.

In 2004, he and Glaser briefly reprised their roles for the Ben Stiller/Owen Wilson movie spoof of "Starsky & Hutch."
In the '80s, Soul was arrested for attacking his pregnant wife, Patti Carnel Sherman, the ex-wife of teen heartthrob Bobby Sherman. He later expressed regret over the incident and met with inmates jailed for domestic abuse.
